Mission
Grand Marais Playhouse is a non-profit community theater dedicated to providing high quality theater and educational opportunities with and for Cook County residents and visitors.
Vision
The theater community, education programs, and productions created by the Grand Marais Playhouse enrich the lives of our citizens; enhance the education of our children, youth and adults; strengthen the economic stability of our community; and make Cook County a better place to live and visit.
Values
We value artistic challenge and growth, diversity, equity, community, and collaboration.
The Playhouse is a BRAVE SPACE where:
It is safe to be who you are, regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, ability, age, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Diverse opinions, dissent, and argument are not only tolerated, but invited.
Active listening and courageous exchange are fundamental values.
Collective action, activism, and community engagement, both within and outside the walls of the theater, are cultivated, encouraged, and supported.
The Grand Marais Playhouse was invited to participate in this campaign! See the video below and a blog about our Director, Sue Hennessy here
